All About SuperStreets
What is SuperStreets Roadway?

SuperStreets roadway is functionally O gauge three-rail track built very unobtrusively into a realistic street. Because at heart SuperStreets is O-gauge track, you control the traffic on with your existing transformer.
Visually the roadway pieces look very much like the concrete and asphalt streets in cities and town of the last seventy-five years. There is a countersunk screw hole in each piece, hidden by a detailed manhole cover.
What Can I Run on SuperStreets?
RailRoadster vehicles are designed especially for SuperStreets. However, any O gauge engine or motorized unit like vans, speeders, inspection vehicles, and trolleys run on SuperStreets. Our Plymouth Switcher performs great and looks terrific in an urban industrial area. The limiting factor is wheel base; a full size locomotive won't negotiate the curves.
Some RailRoadsters now come with TMCC which allows you to enjoy the realistic control of TMCC on your layout roadways. You control speed, turn on headlights on and off, and the tail lights when you brake.
Why Three Different 2.5" Straight Roadways?

To optimize performance of vehicles traveling on SuperStreets the flange groove on the Roadway is wider on curved roadway pieces than on straight roadway. SuperStreets Roadway includes three 2.5 inch straight pieces with different width flange grooves to maintain optimal performance.
The 6-22566 2.5" Straight to Straight Connector has the narrow grooves of all straight Roadways. The 6-21282 Curve to Curve Connector has the wider flange groove of the Roadway curves which allows for creation of broader sweeping curves.
The 6-21261 Straight to Curve Connector tapers the flange groove from one type of Roadway to the other in ensure smooth travel and eliminate possible 'derailments'.
What is the Easiest Way to Get Started?
There are starter sets with enough roadway to make a large oval plus one RailRoadsters vehicle. Complete sets also include a transformer. Our Dogbone Expander Pack provides the roadway components to transform the basic oval into a dogbone that can send traffic cruising up and down your Main Street.
As your streets and highways expand you can purchase all the individual roadway components you need to configure your road system.
